Hi, guys! Welcome to my website, where you can browse my books, read more about the Star Crossed series, and hopefully get to know me a little better.
Things I Love:
Books! Especially fantasy - dark, light, epic, retellings: give me all of the things. Some of my favorite reads are:
The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien
The Complete Tales of Edgar Allan Poe
The And I Darken Trilogy by Kierstin White
The Stalking Jack the Ripper series by Kerri Maniscalco
The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard
The Three Dark Crowns series by Kendare Blake
The Dreadful Tale of Prosper Redding by Alexandra Bracken
The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer
Hunted by Meaghan Spooner
An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
And the list goes on and on!
Food! I'm a vegetarian (I know, I'm weird), plus I have a ton of allergies, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying a good meal or a tasty treat! When I'm writing, I snack-think chocolate, chips, cheese, and crackers-, but when I'm reading, I prefer something warm, like coffee, hot chocolate, freshly baked bread, or cinnamon rolls.
Adrenaline! When I was younger, I loved to ride roller coasters, perform dare-devilish stunts, and once I even went bungee jumping. Unfortunately, it seems like the older I get, the more I've inherited my dad's motion sickness, so now I get my fix solely through working out. Running, sit ups, weights, yoga: you name it, I do it, and, as an added bonus along with the surges of adrenaline, I get to eat all the above-mentioned food without gaining a pound lol!
Traveling is another love of mine. My favorite quote of all time is from J. R. R. Tolkien, "Not all who wander are lost." Currently, I've been to Texas, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee, as well as Canada and London. Along with wanting to go back to London again one day to see more, I would love to visit Scotland, Paris, the Bahamas, Ireland, Spain, Egypt, California, Colorado, New York, and Pennsylvania. For smaller trips, my daughter and I enjoy going to theme parks like Disney World, hiking at state parks, and what we call library hopping, where we visit the local library every time we pass through a new town.
Shopping, like adrenaline, is more of an addiction than a like if I'm being honest, because, sadly, I am a shopaholic who can't resist buying books, shoes, and home decor (especially bookish, Halloween, and Christmas themed). I also enjoy purchasing cute tops to go with my uniform of jeans every day, and I'm always in the market for new writing accessories.
Music. My tastes run a little wild, from country to rock and roll, from pop to classical, and everything in between. Basically, if I like a song, I like a song, regardless of the genre.
"An exceptional read! Laura Holt has created a wonderful new myth that will appeal to readers of all ages."
